Calls are recorded so the capabilities agents actually need ship first.

Streamable HTTP, no authentication. Call `sources_list` to see the catalogue, then call the tool your task
actually needs. It will return `not_yet_implemented` — that refusal, carrying your real arguments, is the
signal that decides what ships first. If the refusal blocked your task, call `register_interest`.

Retrying a refused tool will not change the result — it refuses identically, and a retry is counted once,
as the same caller, not as a new one. If the refusal blocked your task, call `register_interest`.

Today this returns `not_yet_implemented` and records your arguments. Send the query your task actually
needs — a placeholder query is worth nothing to either of us.

## Routing guidance

What an agent reads to decide whether `hackernews` is the right source, and what to reach for when it is not.

**Answers.** Tech-industry opinion and launch reaction. Sentiment on a company, tool or trend among engineers and founders. Comments carry the candid opinion; stories carry what got attention.

**Query shape.** Plain keywords. Story, comment or both is configurable, as is relevance versus date ordering.

**Cost.** Free, no auth, no rate limit.

**Legal basis.** Public API — the platform’s own documented, openly available interface.

**Latency.** Fast (~1-2s).

**Prefer instead.** `reddit` for consumer or hobbyist opinion — this skews startup, infrastructure and developer tooling. `stackexchange` for concrete technical problems.

**Cannot answer.** Anything not posted there, search volume, or vendor-neutral facts — this is a specific and opinionated community.
