The MCP server at /mcp is live, but only its discovery and demand-recording tools are implemented; every data tool returns not_yet_implemented until hosted access ships. Nothing here fabricates data. Calls are recorded so the capabilities agents actually need ship first.

Streamable HTTP, no authentication. Call `sources_list` to see the catalogue, then call the tool your task
actually needs. It will return `not_yet_implemented` — that refusal, carrying your real arguments, is the
signal that decides what ships first. If the refusal blocked your task, call `register_interest`.

Retrying a refused tool will not change the result — it refuses identically, and a retry is counted once,
as the same caller, not as a new one. If the refusal blocked your task, call `register_interest`.

Today this returns `not_yet_implemented` and records your arguments. Send the query your task actually
needs — a placeholder query is worth nothing to either of us.

## Routing guidance

What an agent reads to decide whether `opencorporates` is the right source, and what to reach for when it is not.

**Answers.** Whether a company legally exists, under what exact name, where, since when, and who its officers are. The identity spine under any diligence workflow — a trading name is not an entity, and this is where the two get reconciled.

**Query shape.** A company name plus a jurisdiction, or a registration number.

**Cost.** Free for basic lookups; metered for bulk and for officer search.

**Legal basis.** Public API — the platform’s own documented, openly available interface.

**Latency.** Fast.

**Prefer instead.** `companies-house` for full UK accounts and charges. `sec-edgar` for US public filings. `gleif` when the question is corporate ownership hierarchy.

**Cannot answer.** Financials, ownership percentages, or beneficial owners. Registry data records who is on file, not who controls.

**Caveat.** Jurisdictional coverage and freshness vary enormously. A stale status field is common in registries that publish infrequently.
