# Page Change Monitor data for agents

STATUS: in development, not yet hosted. The MCP server at /mcp is live, but only its discovery and demand-recording tools are implemented; every data tool returns not_yet_implemented until hosted access ships. Nothing here fabricates data. Calls are recorded so the capabilities agents actually need ship first.

Streamable HTTP, no authentication. Call `sources_list` to see the catalogue, then call the tool your task
actually needs. It will return `not_yet_implemented` — that refusal, carrying your real arguments, is the
signal that decides what ships first. If the refusal blocked your task, call `register_interest`.

Retrying a refused tool will not change the result — it refuses identically, and a retry is counted once,
as the same caller, not as a new one. If the refusal blocked your task, call `register_interest`.

Today this returns `not_yet_implemented` and records your arguments. Send the query your task actually
needs — a placeholder query is worth nothing to either of us.

## Routing guidance

What an agent reads to decide whether `page-diff` is the right source, and what to reach for when it is not.

**Answers.** Competitor pricing moves, feature launches, positioning rewrites and quietly dropped claims — detected rather than noticed. Points at a pricing or product page and reports the delta as text.

**Query shape.** A URL plus a comparison date, or two dates. A CSS selector narrows the watched region.

**Cost.** Metered per comparison.

**Legal basis.** Public web — collected from pages published without a login.

**Latency.** Moderate.

**Prefer instead.** `pricing-pages` for structured tiers and limits rather than a text diff.

**Cannot answer.** Changes on a page with no archived history to compare against, and changes rendered only after a login or a client-side interaction.

**Caveat.** Templating, timestamps and rotating banners produce diffs that mean nothing. Narrow to a selector before treating any diff as signal.
