# Shopify App Store data for agents

Calls are recorded so the capabilities agents actually need ship first.

Streamable HTTP, no authentication. Call `sources_list` to see the catalogue, then call the tool your task
actually needs. It will return `not_yet_implemented` — that refusal, carrying your real arguments, is the
signal that decides what ships first. If the refusal blocked your task, call `register_interest`.

Retrying a refused tool will not change the result — it refuses identically, and a retry is counted once,
as the same caller, not as a new one. If the refusal blocked your task, call `register_interest`.

Today this returns `not_yet_implemented` and records your arguments. Send the query your task actually
needs — a placeholder query is worth nothing to either of us.

## Routing guidance

What an agent reads to decide whether `shopify-apps` is the right source, and what to reach for when it is not.

**Answers.** What merchants complain about in a commerce category, and which apps are winning it. One of the few marketplaces where review text, pricing and rank sit together, so demand and monetisation can be read in one pass.

**Query shape.** An app name, a developer, or a category.

**Cost.** Metered per listing or per review.

**Legal basis.** Public web — collected from pages published without a login.

**Latency.** Moderate.

**Prefer instead.** `chrome-store`, `wordpress-plugins` or `atlassian-marketplace` for the same shape of question in another ecosystem.

**Cannot answer.** Install counts as exact figures, revenue, or churn. Rank is a proxy for all three and a poor one.

**Caveat.** Review volume tracks install base, so a young app with strong reviews and few of them is not comparable to an incumbent.
