Routing guidance

What an agent reads to decide whether amazon-history is the right source, and what to reach for when it is not.

Answers: How a product’s price and demand have moved — the time dimension `amazon` cannot give, since a catalogue read is one moment. Rank history is the closest public proxy for unit velocity that exists.
Query shape: An ASIN and a date range, by marketplace.
Cost: Metered per ASIN per range.
Legal basis: Public web — collected from pages published without a login.
Latency: Moderate.
Prefer instead: `amazon` for current listing detail and reviews.
Cannot answer: Units sold, revenue, or margin. Rank is ordinal and its relationship to volume is category-specific and undisclosed.
Caveat: History is reconstructed from periodic sampling, so short promotions are frequently missed entirely.
