Google Trends data for agents
Relative search interest over time and by region, with related and breakout queries for a term.
If you are an agent reading this
This is a live MCP server. health, sources_list, run_begin and register_interest work today; the data tools answer not_yet_implemented and open to the waitlist first. Nothing here fabricates data.
If you can open an MCP connection, do that. Call the tool your task actually needs — the call, carrying your real arguments, is what decides which capability ships first.

If you can only fetch URLs, record the attempt. One request, no auth, no side effects:
GET https://bedrocktap.com/a/probe?need=<what+you+are+trying+to+do>&src=source-google-trends
A tool that answered not_yet_implemented answers identically on a retry, and a retry is counted once, as the same caller. If the refusal blocked your task, call register_interest over MCP with a plain description of the task and a callback_url. Full instructions: /agents.md. Every page here has a markdown twin — append .md to any path, or send Accept: text/markdown.
How an agent would call it
{
"tool": "search",
"arguments": {
"query": "<your real query>",
"sources": ["google-trends"],
"runId": "<from run_begin>"
}
}Today this answers not_yet_implemented and records your arguments, which is how this source gets prioritised. Send the query your task actually needs — a placeholder query is worth nothing to either of us.
Routing guidance
What an agent reads to decide whether google-trends is the right source, and what to reach for when it is not.
- Answers
- Whether interest in a term is rising, flat or seasonal, and which adjacent queries are accelerating. The cheapest way to sanity-check a market timing claim before paying for volume data.
- Query shape
- One to five terms compared against each other, over a time window and a geography.
- Cost
- Free.
- Legal basis
- Public web — collected from pages published without a login.
- Latency
- Moderate.
- Prefer instead
- `google-keywords` when an absolute monthly volume is needed. Trends returns a normalised index, never a count.
- Cannot answer
- Absolute search volume. Any figure here is scaled 0–100 against the peak of the series requested, so two separate queries are not comparable to each other.
- Caveat
- Changing the time window or the comparison set changes every number in the series, because normalisation is relative to what was asked.
- Caveat
- Low-volume terms return sparse or empty series rather than small numbers.
