Routing guidance

What an agent reads to decide whether onchain is the right source, and what to reach for when it is not.

Answers: What actually settled, as opposed to what was quoted. Contract activity over time is the closest thing to usage data that exists for on-chain products.
Query shape: An address, contract or transaction hash, by chain.
Cost: Free within an allowance, then metered.
Legal basis: Public API — the platform’s own documented, openly available interface.
Latency: Fast.
Prefer instead: `crypto-markets` when the question is price rather than settlement.
Cannot answer: Who controls an address. Off-chain and custodial activity, which is most retail volume.
Caveat: Address activity is not user count. One person may hold hundreds of addresses and one address may hold thousands of users.
